Note

I will use Lenna and Reina interchangably throughout this shrine.

Background

We have little background, so I will make some stuff up. Lenna was the younger of the two princesses of Tycoon and received a very prestigious education. When her sister Salsa(Faris) disappeared, she was next in line for the throne and raised in matters of state, politics, religion, languages, history, biology, physical science, and mathematics. She exceeded in all subjects and was praised around the world for her aptitude and called "a miracle of learning." Her favorite subject was history. She developed a closeness with her father, we can presume, from her desire to follow him to the Wind Shrine, and to the dragons and her mother.

Personality

This is both an analysis and a defense of Reina.I perceive Lenna to be very shrewd politically. What, you say? Well, first of all, it's always HER that is in charge of the meetings with the rulers and chancellors in the first world, so she obviously knows her stuff! Secondly, I think she's far braver and gutsier than people give her credit for. Sure, you have to save her from the goblins, but it's my opinion she fainted from shock, rather than weakness- she did have some armor and a knife after all! Also, she was brave enough to stand up to the pirates- some people see this as naivite, but I don't think so. That takes a lot of courage, you know! Would I have done that? Would you? Probably not. Also, for a "damsel" you don't have to rescue her more than once. She WILLINGLY puts her life in danger the other times, and she is capable of getting herself out- she just takes the antidotes. Also, she's very feminine too. A lot of people see this as weakness, such as when they attack Terra, Rosa, Garnet, etc. Excuse me, but why is femininity a weakness? What century is this, the 19th or the 21st? A woman can be feminine, senstive, and strong at the same time. It's dependance and inability to do anything for oneself that makes one weak, and unlike, say, Rinoa or Tifa, Lenna is perfectly capable of defending herself, and since FFV has no couple either, she doesn't need a man to save her all the time and is perfectly self reliable. Like Rosa, she's a lot more complex and strong than people give her credit for. Though I don't like her as much as, say, Rydia, Faris, Terra or Freya, she still is, nonetheless, a strong willed, independent, kind, loyal, and shrewd woman. Go Lenna!

Relationships

Reina is definitely closest to Faris throughout the game, which is ironic since they started out as enemies. Once they find out they're sisters, they really become very close. She's definitely closest to her dad, the King of Tycoon, but there's not much with the other dawn warriors.

Romance

I don't think Reina and Bartz would be suited for each other. First of all, Reina wasn't attracted to him, and secondly, their lifestyles wouldn't mesh. Also, Reina probably had her marriage arranged when she was younger, for political purposes. She may change that now, now that she's queen, or she may decide not to marry at all(Elizabeth I never married, for example.) I like to imagine Lenna marrying someone from Galuf's kingdom and the two of them working together to repair and re unite the world.

Resemblances

It's really hard to do a resemblance for Lenna, since, of all the characters, I think she really stands on her own. The closest example I can think of is Dagger/Garnet of FFIX. Both girls run away from home, both girls are helped along by roamers, and both girls wind up tangled in quests to save the world. Both girls are also smart enough to get themselves out of trouble, although Lenna learns it right away(or knew it beforehand, since she had a knife and knew to take the antidotes), but we see Garnet learning it DURING the game(that's a maturity difference though. Also, Garnet suffered depression, whereas Lenna did not, other than the normal grief when she lost her mother. Both joined the party for different motives though, Dagger to help her mom and for freedom, and Lenna b/c she was worried about her dad and the world. Also, Dagger falls in love with Zidane, and Lenna is still on her own at the end

Why the name Warrior Princess

Simple reason, really. She's one of the 4 Dawn Warriors, and she's a royal princess!

Trivia

"Reina", her name in FF Anthology, means "Queen" in Spanish.
